The MATE PA Regional ROV Challenge is a unique international underwater robotics program that exposes students to STEM careers and help them envision pathways to those careers.

Students design and build ROVs to participate in competitions that focus on real-world ROV missions.  They are used in scientific research, ocean exploration, homeland security, the offshore oil and gas industry, and other industries.

Open to grades 5-12th and university levels that include public, parochial, charter, private, and community clubs/schools.  Teams compete for awards in engineering categories (missions, poster, presentation and technical report) which are judged by industry experts.  The top two teams move onto MATE International.  MATE PA is one of 23 regionals worldwide.
