Marching Toward Justice for All
Posted by Mural Arts Philadelphia on March 20, 2017
Can you believe it’s already March, muralistas? Nicole Steinberg here, Director of Communications. Our spring season is shaping up to be one of the busiest yet, and we’re getting started with a new event series: The Art of the Protest.
At Mural Arts, we have a long and rich history of standing up for justice, equity, and diversity. In this spirit, we’re proud to collaborate with the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and the Signs of Solidarity collective on a series of creative sign-making workshops. Hear firsthand how socially conscious Philly artists and curators are getting messages of unity and hope onto the streets, mix and mingle with fellow aspiring artists, and make your voice heard with a sign of your own! Make it and take it—it’s that simple. Visit our website to RSVP for workshops on March 25, April 8, and May 1.
The Art of the Protest kicks off on Tuesday, March 21 with an art and activism panel at the Kimmel Center’s beautiful Hamilton Garden space, featuring artists Olek, Michelle Angela Ortiz, and Liza Goodell from Spiral Q, co-hosted by StreetsDept.com and Young Involved Philadelphia. Tickets will fly fast so get yours now!
