Managing Up: Working Effectively with Your Executive Director
DATE: Monday, January 30th
TIME: 6:00pm ? 8:00pm
LOCATION: Central Library of Philadelphia, 4th Floor ? Skyline Room, 1901 Vine Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103
There are dozens of management books that offer guidance to Executive Directors about how to manage their employees, but far fewer provide helpful insight for employees on how to work most effectively with their bosses. At this session, we?ll share strategies to develop effective working relationships with nonprofit Executive Directors. We’ll discuss:
* Understanding the role (and pressure points) of Executive Directors
* Strategies for effective communication
* Ways to deal with difficult situations
The facilitator will share stories from her own experiences, and facilitate group discussion of strategies and ideas. You’ll leave the session with some new ideas and know where to find additional resources you can consult for help in your own situation.
