Manager/Director- Coming of Age Initiative
DESCRIPTION
The Manager/ Director will oversee Coming of Age, a regional initiative coordinated by Temple University?s Center for Intergenerational Learning, in partnership with WHYY, United Way and AARP. This initiative focuses on mobilizing baby boomers/ retirees to engage in meaningful service experiences and building the capacity of non-profit organizations to offer compelling opportunities to the 50+ population. Responsibilities include: management of day-to- day activities, serving as liaison to all partner organizations, oversight of public awareness campaign, content management of web site, and outreach to non-profit organizations. Other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience in marketing, public relations, program implementation, volunteer management and/or coalition building. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities:
*Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with partner organizations, volunteers and the general public.
*Strong writing skills to draft reports, proposals, and other correspondence as needed.
*Proven ability to oversee a volunteer-based, grant-funded or otherwise relevant program.
*Leadership ability to promote the vision of the COA initiative and to inspire others to participate.
*Effective management and coordination skills to oversee the overall success of the project.
*An understanding of the issues facing baby boomers and retirees.
Preferred:
* Master’s degree in Marketing/Public Relations, Social Service, Education or related field.
