Manager of Victim Services

Congreso de Latinos Unidos, Inc., a dynamic nonprofit, is currently seeking a Manager of Victim Services for its Health Promotion and Wellness division. The Manager of Victim Services is responsible for (1) management of the crime victim assistance programs in compliance with funding and agency goals, (2) supervision and support of all assigned staff (3) providing advocacy and representation at the local, state and national level on behalf of Congreso’s victims assistance programs, and (4) providing oversight and coordination of on-site and external partners that serve the division. This position reports directly to the Director of Women’s Wellness and Health Promotion.

Essential Responsibilities
 Provide on-site counseling, referrals, advocacy, and educational services at Congreso’s main office, client’s homes and throughout the community
 Provide resource information to clients, Congreso staff and social services agencies
 Provide on-going crisis intervention, case management, advocacy, and resources to clients
 Provide legal assistance and consultation to victims of crime, such as emergency legal advocacy, including the filing of PFAs, injunctions, elder abuse petitions, child abuse petitions, and other protective orders
 Overseeing all programmatic and administrative elements of the Victim Assistance Program, including data management and maintaining program files
 Responsible for participating in all project evaluations and site visits undertaken by VOCA and/or the Office of the District Attorney
 Understanding of legal criteria for issues of domestic abuse, child abuse, and confidentiality

Minimum Qualifications
 1-2 years of experience with Philadelphia civil and criminal court proceedings
 1-2 years of professional supervisory experience
 Understanding the dynamics and needs of victims of crime
 Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish)
 Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, or other relevant field (suitable combination of education and two to three years’ experience with crime victims and program management may be considered in lieu of Master’s degree requirement)
