Manager, Neighborhood and Resource Planning

Background
People’s Emergency Center (PEC) nurtures families, strengthens neighborhoods and drives change. We are committed to increasing equity and opportunity throughout our entire community. We concentrate our efforts on providing comprehensive supportive services to homeless women and their children, revitalizing our West Philadelphia neighborhood, and advocating for social change.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree in urban planning or a related field is preferred
· A minimum of two years community development experience is preferred
· Sensitivity to, and experience with low-income populations
· Working knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) and Adobe Creative Suite.

ArcGIS experience is desired

Reports to: Vice President, Real Estate and Economic Development

Responsibilities:
The Manager, Neighborhood and Resource Planning is responsible for the development and management of applications for funding for the Community Development Corporation’s (CDC) department, overseeing the CDC’s communication, and managing selected projects.

Funding

· Manage entire grants process for the CDC department which includes, but not limited to: application, submission, and reporting for all grants related to community and economic development activities
· Ensure all reports are submitted timely and grant files are properly maintained
· With support of appropriate departments, coordinate program and/or service evaluation to monitor on-going implementation and management of grants
· Pursue new funding prospects including identifying funding needs for identified target areas
· Manage contract deliverable reporting during contract period

Communication Outreach

· Manage community outreach efforts via print and online newsletters
· Develop various types of promotional materials for the activities of the CDC department

Special Projects

· Coordinate small-scale special projects on an as-needed basis such as: a facade rehabilitation program, greening efforts and best practices research for real estate development
