Position Description:
Manage all fundraising responsibilities for at least two medical specialty areas (Divisions and/or Programs). This position has the primary objective of building and revising as necessary a comprehensive strategic fundraising program for assigned areas and developing long-term philanthropic relationships with donors and prospects, with the ultimate goal of soliciting these individuals for a major gift(s) to the Hospital.
· Maintain a portfolio of 100-150 prospects rated at $100,000 and higher.
· Reporting to the Executive Director of Development, Clinical Support and Major Gifts, and in collaboration with Development colleagues and physician and nursing leadership in several divisions, departments and programs, lead a comprehensive program to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from the families of patients seen in these areas.
· Recruit and manage volunteers to serve on special committees and for several key areas such as the Boards of Visitors.
Conduct a minimum of 120 face-to-face visits annually; Make 10 phone calls daily.
Open 40 proposals yearly with a target above the $10,000 level to prospects; add a minimum of $2 million to the pipeline annually.
Promote a culture of philanthropy within the assigned areas; build philanthropic awareness via physician/nursing/support staff orientations, one-on-one medical staff meetings, and maintaining a presence in the clinical units.
Identify, cultivate, and solicit foundations and corporations, in collaboration with our corporate/foundation staff.
Manage special events using the resources of event staff members; leverage special programs focused on philanthropic for physicians & nurses.
