Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Trainings
PACDC’s Community Development Leadership Institute is pleased to present two lively and informative sessions on Low Income Housing Tax Credit development deal-making led by Associate Member and an accomplished leader in the field, Diamond and Associates. Attend one or both and walk away with tools and insights community developers can use to improve their communities through this important, but highly competitive source of funding.
Low Income Housing Tax Credits: A Beginner’s Session
9:30 – 11:00 am
Presenters: Shoshana Bannett, Karyntha Cadogan, Chris Paul and Andi Sheaffer (Diamond and Associates)
This session is geared toward organizations which have not previously undertaken LIHTC development, either as the developer or as a partner. During this session, attendees will be introduced to the basic vocabulary and tenets of the LIHTC program. Attendees will gain a basic understanding of how LIHTC deals are structured and should be better prepared to consider undertaking a LIHTC development, as a developer or partner.
Low Income Housing Tax Credits: Master Class
11:15 – 12:30 pm
Presenters: Roy Diamond (Diamond), Dina Schlossberg (Regional Housing Legal Services), and Chris Tully (RBC)
This session is geared towards organizations which have undertaken LIHTC development. The focus of the session will be best practices in LIHTC application preparation and execution. While this session will not offer a magic formula for getting your project funded (because none exists), the purpose of this session is to offer an interactive discussion of best practices and challenges in structuring the strongest possible deals, from concept to closing.
