LOVE Your Park Week’s Kickoff Service Day

Posted by Pennsylvania Horticultural Society on May 5, 2014

Join the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Young Friends group as we celebrate LOVE Your Park Week’s Kickoff Service Day (http://loveyourpark.org) at the Azalea Garden on Saturday, May 10 from 9am to Noon. This volunteer event will kick off with a light breakfast social, with clean-up and planting beginning at 9:30am.

Just northwest of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Azalea Garden was a gift from PHS to the city in 1952. In late 1980s, after years of neglect, PHS worked with the city and other partners to lead a full-scale renovation of the garden. The Azalea Garden now is one of the city’s most picturesque public sites for wedding photography and serves as a favorite picnic spot, as well as a gateway to the popular recreational trails on both sides of the Schuylkill River.

We hope you can join us for a morning of fun and giving back. To volunteer, please respond to Karen Nagel at [email protected] or 215-988-8821 by Wednesday, May 7. We encourage you to bring a friend to join in on the fun. However, please note that space is limited so be sure to reserve your spot.

See you there!
