Looking for Latino Big Brothers and Big Sisters

Dear Supporter,

A smile is the universal language. It reaches across cultures and generations. And nothing represents the magic of Big Brothers Big Sisters better than the happy smiles on the faces of children with mentors, and on adults rediscovering the joy of acting like a kid. But children need more than smiles. They need caring adults, other than their parents, whom they can talk to about their thoughts and dreams. And Bigs need to be able speak to the parents about the Little’s situation and feelings to help keep the friendship strong and growing.

In this month’s newsletter, we share some of the ways Big Brothers Big Sisters is helping establish relationships and foster communication by focusing on our efforts to reach out to Hispanic families and volunteers.

As any Big will tell you, of course, the biggest reward of volunteering is the smile on a child’s face. That happy, confident look says more than words ever could in any language!

Sincerely,
Bill Denk
