Arthur Vining Davis Foundations invite LOIs for higher education, interfaith leadership
The Arthur Vining Davis Foundations were organized in 1952 under a living trust established by Mr. Arthur Vining Davis. Mr. Davis envisioned his namesake foundations would fund organizations and projects across the nation that advance “religious, charitable, scientific, literary and educational purposes.”
To that end, the foundation invites LOIs within the following categories:
Private Higher Education: This area supports colleges and universities prioritizing undergraduate education and emphasizing the liberal arts. Although the foundations support various programs in higher education, grants typically support projects that improve student outcomes or enhance faculty leadership.
Interfaith Leadership and Religious Literacy: This area supports programming that improves Americans’ religious literacy or facilitates understanding, appreciation, and cooperation between individuals and groups across religious traditions. The foundations provide grants to support various activities, including improving educational curricula, creating meaningful engagement between religious communities, and enhancing the public understanding of religious beliefs and practices.
The foundations typically fund discrete projects rather than organizational support and do not fund capital projects or endowments.
Eligible applicants include those tax-exempt as defined by section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue code.
LOIs are due August 29, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. ET. Upon review, selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal, due November 15, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. ET.
For complete program guidelines and application instructions, see the Arthur Vining Davis Foundations website.
Deadline: August 29, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. ET (Letters of Intent)
