Lobbying Toolbox for Activists
Tuesday, February 17, 6:00-9:00pm
Project Home, 1515 Fairmount Ave.
Co-sponsored by Project Home
Do you want legislators to know your constituency?s needs? Has your organization ever thought about lobbying, but you don?t know where to start? Are you concerned about overstepping the legal limit on lobbying by non-profits (or are those limits news to you)? Come open the lobbying toolbox: learn about letter writing, phone calls, face-to-face visits with your elected officials, and working with the media to get your issues in front of decision makers. This workshop will also discuss the importance of assessing how much leverage your organization has around an issue and of building legislative coalitions.
Facilitator: Lauren Townsend, Executive Director, Citizens for Consumer Justice
