Linking Cultural Diversity and Nutrition Through Technology: Are You Ready?
Based on the feedback from members, directors and attendees we have developed a new format for the workshops. This one day, interactive workshop will focus on two different types of communication, Cultural and Technology.
Using a case-study, Janet Schwartz will describe what cultural competence looks like in our health clinics and food and nutrition programs. Reconnect with your own cultural food practices and take a deeper look into cultural foods and practices among common immigrant groups. What does it mean to work towards cultural competence as individuals and organizations?
Aimee Bigham brings a vast knowledge of technology and how to use it to get your clients to become proactive. Aimee will present how smart phones and social networking have changed the way our clients think, react, and communicate. She’ll share several examples of the ways technology has changed the way we approach our work, as well as, how to find and utilize apps that are nutrition and fitness related.
Please contact Rose, 717.233.1791 or [email protected], if you have any questions regarding the workshop.
