LIHEAP Deadline April 28

The deadline for applying for LIHEAP cash and crisis grants is April 28. Don’t assume that all your clients are already getting LIHEAP: we recently learned that only about 30% of households receiving public assistance are getting LIHEAP. This is a terribly low take-up rate for a really important benefit.
The income limit for LIHEAP has gone up to 150% this year, and the amount of a Crisis grant (for avoiding shutoff or getting service back on) is up to $600.
