LIFE AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM AT CAROUSEL HOUSE
SATURDAY, JANUARY 27, 2018, 11AM
Do you have a child between the ages of 14 and 21 who has an Individualized Education Program (IEP)? Want to learn more about their legal right to an IEP that prepares them for life after high school?
The Public Interest Law Center is initiating new programming to ensure that students with disabilities ages 14-21 are receiving appropriate transition plans in the Philadelphia region. Under federal law, school districts are required to provide “transition services” which are activities designed to prepare the child for further education, independent living and employment”.
The Law Center is hosting information sessions on secondary transition and wants to hear from community members about their experiences related to secondary transition planning including failure by school districts to provide appropriate services.
