The Petey Greene Program at UPenn Presents:
TYRONE WERTS
Life After Life: A Story of Hope, Transformation, and Redemption
Monday, March 28, 5:00pm
Cohen Hall Terrace Room, University of Pennsylvania
This event is free and open to the public.
Join us for a talk about education in the criminal justice system, and to find out more about how you can support students enrolled in education programs in prisons.
While serving 36 years of a life sentence, Werts earned his GED and BA from Villanova University, and became a founding member of the Inside-Out Prison Exchange Think Tank at Graterford Prison. He fought incredible odds to redeem himself, and will tell the story of how he came back from the crime and punishment that was to lock him away for the rest of his life. He overcame adversity, adapted to change and pushed himself to realize his full potential.
