Legs Against Arms III
Posted by on April 20, 2009
On April 26th, Physicians for Social Responsibility will host Legs Against Arms III, a 5K Run/Walk, to strengthen legs while opposing illegal handguns in our city. Individuals, families and teams are encouraged to participate as activists and advocates for a future filled with hope, not harm.
Trish McDermott was murdered in 2005 and her family wanted to celebrate her life, rather than her traumatic death. PSR and Team Trish invite you to get a team together to honor and celebrate the life of a loved one lost to violence while supporting PSR’s work to reduce violence in Philadelphia. The largest team will receive the Team Trish Award in her honor.
Registration for the event starts at 7am at La Salle University. The race begins at 8:30am, followed by a celebration of youth, which is free for all. For more details or to register, click here, or email [email protected], or call Kate at 215-765-8703.

[ed note: PHENND has connected PSR with Philadelphia high school students who have senior project topics related to gun violence. Some students will be involved with this event as part of their fieldwork requirements for the senior project.]
