Lecture Series: Finding Philadelphia, Defining Freedom
Co-sponsored by the Historical Society with Heritage Philadelphia and held at HSP
All programs run from 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM.
Heritage Philadelphia will present a series of lectures by noted historians on interpreting the Quaker myth in the region, from its colonial beginnings through the “four foundings” of the Republic: William Penn’s Holy Experiment, nation-building and the American Revolution, the Civil War and the fight for Civil Rights. Lectures are open to HSP members. Each lecture will be followed by a workshop intended for board members, staff, and volunteers of regional historic sites and museums.
