League of Women Voters Event: League and the Law

In honor of Women?s History Month and as part of the Community College of Philadelphia?s Law and Society week, The League of Women Voters of Philadelphia will host a panel discussion with women in the judiciary on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Community College of Philadelphia?s main campus from 6pm to 8pm. The event, “The League and the Law: From Voters to Decision Makers” will be in Lecture Hall (Room C2-28) in the Center for Business and Industry (CBI) Building at Community College of Philadelphia (18th and Callowhill, Philadelphia, PA).
The League is co-sponsoring the event with the National Bar Association Women Lawyer?s Division Philadelphia Chapter and the Institute for the Study of Civic Values in partnership with the Women?s Center and Center for Law and Society at Community College of Philadelphia.
A networking event from 6pm to 6:30pm will kick off a panel discussion centered around women achieving the right to vote and advancements in women?s issues since 1920. The panelists will also discuss their professional paths and what inspired them to seek the judgeship. A brief question and answer with the audience will follow the panel discussion.
