To help deliver the services needed we have an immediate opening for a Leadership Gifts Officer to serve as an integral member of the advancement team responsible for soliciting gifts of $50,000 and above to support the mission of the university. The Leadership Gifts Officer will cultivate and manage relationships with new and prospective donors, including identifying, soliciting and stewarding donors through a technology-based moves management system. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of higher education/alumni fundraising experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a diverse group of individuals both inside and outside the university.
- Proven ability to raise and close five-, six- and seven-figure gifts.
- Demonstrated success with developing and sustaining relationships with key donors, volunteer leadership, and senior staff.
- Superb writing skills.
- Ability to travel to assigned regions and work evening and weekend hours.
- Demonstrated creativity and strategic thinking with the ability to take initiative and the willingness to learn.
