Lead: Putting a Public Health Menace to Rest
In advance of Public Health Week, hear about the fascinating struggles to identify and remove lead from the environment. How can we protect our children? How much lead is in the food we eat? Learn how we can meet the challenge of putting this public health menace to rest.
Lydia Denworth
Author of Toxic Truth
Ms. Denworth will speak about her book, which documents the work of two scientists, Dr. Patterson and Dr. Needleman, who advanced our understanding of lead, its insidious nature, and its toxic effects on children.
The Panelists: David Zelov, Urban Farmer, Weavers Way Farm and Jay S. Schneider, PhD, professor at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University will address renewed concerns sparked by the discovery of lead in imported products, questions regarding toxins in food production and is there a safe level of lead?
