Philadelphia VIP, the hub of pro bono in Philadelphia, recruits, trains, and supports volunteer lawyers who provide free legal services to low-income clients, nonprofits and small businesses, seeks a Community Economic Development Coordinator.
POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Community Economic Development Coordinator executes VIP’s LawWorks project, which recruits business lawyers to strengthen Philadelphia small businesses and nonprofits by providing pro bono legal advice and transactional representation.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree required. This is not an attorney position. Prior work experience with community economic development and pro bono volunteer appreciation is preferred. The ideal candidate is an energetic, goal oriented, team player, with excellent skills in communication (oral and written) and relationship-building, demonstrated interest in supporting
volunteers, strong commitment to access to justice for underserved communities. The candidate should be a self-starter, attentive to detail, and successful at managing multiple deadlines. The candidate enjoys working with a close-knit team in a fast-paced office and embraces technology, including leading edge case management systems. This position is full-time and exempt, with generous employee benefits and a great team atmosphere.
