Latino Collaborative Organizer-Facilitator, Family Services

Hispanics in Philanthropy (HIP) recently informed me that they awarded Family Services a grant that will enable Family Services to hire a part-time (15 hr. per week) Latino Collaborative Organizer-Facilitator to work with, support and grow the Montgomery County Latino Collaborative.

Hopefully, this individual will assure that the Montgomery County Latino Collaborative will become a stronger and more unified Latino voice in order to respond to the many unmet, social, health, cultural, educational and economic needs of the Latino community in Montgomery County.

Family Services of Montgomery County, PA is seeking a qualified bilingual/bicultural individual to fill this (15 hr. per week) PT position as a: Latino Collaborative Organizer-Facilitator

I. EMPLOYMENT
The Latino Collaborative Organizer-Facilitator is an hourly-part time position. This individual is directly responsible to the Associate Director of Family Services

II. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Individual should have a BA degree with related community experience

III OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
A. Familiarity with Latino organizations
B. Comfort and skill in working with the Latino community
C. Ability to work with community members and non-profit staff and managers
D. Must possess good public speaking, writing and computer skills
E. Ability to be well organized and manage multiple projects
F. Ability to speak Spanish fluently, and understand Latino cultural and social issues
G. Must have a valid PA driver’s license, car insurance and a reliable vehicle

IV. RESPONSIBILITIES
The Latino Collaborative Organizer-Facilitator will help build and strengthen the Montgomery County Latino Collaborative by assisting with collaborative organizational activities, planning and helping to facilitate meetings, engaging in community outreach and helping to identify and communicate the needs and challenges faced by the Latino community in Montgomery County.

A. Develop good working relationships with organizations/individuals in the Latino community
B. Plan, take minutes and facilitate collaborative meetings
C. Maintain and strengthen communications between collaborative members
D. Help promote community activities designed to strengthen the Latino Collaborative
E. Work closely with Family Services’ Associate Director and keep him informed of collaborative issues, successes and challenges.
F. Collect and input into database necessary data for inclusion in needed reports
G. Other duties as assigned.

V. SUPERVISION and EVALUATION
The Associate Director will provide regular supervision and complete the performance evaluation of the Latino Collaborative Organizer – Facilitator
