Knight supports innovation in community news
The Knight News Challenge (KNC), an effort by the John S. & James L. Knight Foundation, has $5 million to provide grants to transform community news.
Nonprofits, companies and individuals can apply for funding. Programs must use digital media, involve new forms of news in the public interest and focus on a specific geographic community.
Projects can be submitted in four categories: Good Ideas; Pilot Projects/Field Tests; Leadership; and New Business Ventures. Deadline is December 15th. For more information, visit here.
