K.I.C. Camp is a free summer camp for at-risk youth from the Easton community. Offered annually, K.I.C. Camp is held over 2.5 days on Lafayette?s College Campus and is staffed by returning and first-year Lafayette students. The last day of camp is a bus trip to a county park for swimming and grilling.

Position Description
The K.I.C. Camp Administrator works collaboratively with the Landis Center professional staff and the Lafayette students and will oversee all aspects of program implementation and supervision. The duration of the position is from August 13, 2007 until August 24, 2007.

Responsibilities
? Orient, train, schedule and supervise camp staff and counselors (Lafayette students) as deem appropriate.
? Assist in the training, scheduling and professional development of Lafayette students participating in the camp program.
? Assist in outreach in the Easton area for the recruitment of youth.
? Lead transitions, plan daily announcements, establish rules and boundaries to insure a well-run and safe operation.
? Devise and implement plan of action to address camper behavior issues.
? Oversee the development and implementation of an age-appropriate curriculum and evaluate the program as needed to maintain proper balance of activities.
? Develop and maintain all relationships with partners and vendors of camp programs.
? Maintain program records and complete reports concerning the daily management of program, staff, and campers.
? Uphold Lafayette College policy and procedures including enforcing safety rules and submitting accident/incident reports as required.
? Participate in administration of the assigned program budget including maintaining accurate records of petty cash purchases and purchasing additional program supplies and snacks as needed.
? Inspect and maintain all equipment/facilities used and insure its proper use and the safety of those using it.
? Assess and evaluate the program based on identified outcomes and prepare an executive summary.
? Other related duties as specified.

The College provides adequate camp funding source, scheduling of transportation, access to a work space that includes a computer, copier, fax and telephone.

Qualifications
? Bachelor?s degree in related field.
? Direct experience teaching or supervising children/youth, providing a wide range of developmentally appropriate programs and activities; experience in program/activity development and implementation required.
? At least one season of camp administrative experience preferred.
? Ability to supervise staff and campers.
? Knowledge of youth developmental principles.
? Current CPR and first aid certification required.
? Child Abuse Clearance and Criminal Background check required.
? Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
? Ability to work with youth and families from a variety of backgrounds.
? Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
? Valid driver?s license required.

Compensation
$1,500-$1,750 based on qualifications.
