KAPOW! is recruiting interns & volunteers for summer and fall 2006. Candidates must be energetic, professional, detail oriented, possess great phone manners, be computer (MAC) and internet savvy, have the ability to multi-task and work well under deadlines.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fun and relaxed work environment with a great team. An excellent break for anyone looking to familiarize themselves with Hip-Hop culture, entertainment industry, education and non-profit sector, gain valuable experience working with brilliant executives/social entrepreneurs. This is also great for those who would simply like to learn the ropes on how an organization like KAPOW! operates.

Looking to hire individuals who can commit 1 semester and/or who can work between 10- 15 hours/2 days per week. Flexible schedule available for right candidates. Positions non-paid, travel stipend and meals included. Start ASAP. School credit available for qualifying students. Positions open until filled.
Positions are open in the following areas:
?X Webmaster: New hip-hop website in search of serious hip-hop fan to assist with building content for this new non-profit site for independent artists and hip-hop aficionados. YOU MUST LOVE HIP-HOP.

Site content areas to include: educating artists, hip-hop history, links to national/international community resources within the hip-hop community, cultural/critical editorials; communal music licensing and downloads.

Writing experience a plus; previous website design experience; strong inter-personal skills necessary

Design samples required; compensation commensurate with experience.

?X Development, Marketing and Public Relations: MUSE Film and Television seeks an intern to help build the foundation of an innovative new project to link cultural institutions with educational systems through multi-media technologies.

Joining an inspired team of media professionals, educators, and volunteers, the intern will identify possible local and national funding sources, contact program officers, write grant applications, and follow-up with updates and reports.

Applicants for the position should have a strong interest in non-profits, the arts, and education. A creative, organized, timely, and detail-oriented thinker will get the most out of this position. Scheduling is flexible within business hours, 10-20 hours/week. The internship will start with a small travel and food stipend, although there is potential for compensation, and even full-time work, later.
