K-8 Music Teacher, 2019-2020 School Year – FACTS Charter School
Posted by Folk Arts-Cultural Treasures Charter School on January 29, 2019
The Folk Arts-Cultural Treasures Charter School (FACTS) is a K-8 charter school located in the Chinatown area of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. FACTS was named a 2016 National Blue Ribbon School.
Much of FACTS’s success is due to our culture of teacher collaboration. FACTS teachers plan together, share successful practices, and support each other’s growth. In our recent survey of teachers, one teacher wrote, “FACTS is one of the kindest, most supportive schools I have ever worked at,” and according to another, “I have never worked with a more committed group of loving educators.”
We are currently seeking a Pennsylvania-certified K-8 Music Teacher for the 2019-20 school year.
FACTS teachers challenge, inspire, and actively engage students in their own learning process by teaching both for content and for critical thinking and life character development. The Music Teacher nurtures a love, appreciation and understanding of all types of music while teaching skills and concepts to a diverse student body.
Through the dynamic use of resident artists, community collaborations, and other creative methods, we use Folk Arts to provide our students with an opportunity to learn about their own cultures, as well as the cultures of their neighbors. Music is a crucial part of our academic program and a vital part of our environment and our school rituals – for both students and staff. Everyone sings at FACTS.
