The Center for Black Educator Development is hiring current high school sophomores, juniors and seniors with a deep desire to drive social change through a career in education for Summer 2023.
All applicants must have completed 9th grade by June 20, 2023.
Freedom Schools Literacy Academy gives current K-2nd grade scholars an opportunity to boost their literacy skills, strengthen academic confidence and experience the joyfulness of having their racial identity centered and affirmed.
Working with the Center’s Freedom Schools Literacy Academy can be a life-changing experience!
We’re excited to share that the Junior Servant Leader (JSL) application for the 2023 Freedom Schools Literacy Academy in Camden, NJ and Philadelphia, PA is officially open!
We seek JSL candidates who:
- are residents within the city of Philadelphia PA or Camden NJ for all in-person roles.
- are from diverse backgrounds, with a particular interest in those whose experiences match those of the children we serve in Philadelphia/Camdenn communities.
- are open to exploring career paths in the field of education, even if they are not certain which path they will pursue after high school.
- have some experience in service and leadership (preferred) or, if inexperienced, are open to a role centered in servant leadership.
This is an in-person, seasonal position from June to August 2023. From June to August participants will be required to work 5 days a week.
