July Kinship Institute networking meeting
The July presentation in the Kinship Institute?s series of monthly networking and informational meetings for service providers serving kinship caregivers will focus on how to access benefits for these families through the PA Dept. of Public Welfare.
The breakfast meetings are hosted on the 4th Tuesday of each month (except August) from 9am – 11am at the offices of Philadelphia Society for Services to Children at 415 South 15th Street in Philadelphia. This month?s presentation will be on Tuesday, July 24th.
The presentation will describe programs offered through DPW, including a review of who qualifies for financial assistance, how programs are accessed, and how you can help clients navigate this system. While information specific to relative caregiver families will be included, this training would serve as a good overview for all service providers. Information will be presented by Jeff Blumberg, Director, Community Services Department, Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare.
To register, contact Sarah Gaines at 215-875-4977 by July 19th or email sarah@pssckids.org.
