Hands-on learning and innovative technology experiences await you at Community College of Philadelphia’s Jr. STEM Academy. Are you looking for an afterschool program for your child for the 2022-2023 school year?
iSTEM is a program focusing on robotics and product manufacturing. Open to students in grades 6 through 8, the program will operate from October 2022 to May 2023. Students will foster their technical skills while also helping to boost their academic achievement. Located at Community College of Philadelphia’s Career and Advanced Technology Center.
Fall 2022: Introduction to Robotics – $160 for the full semester
First Lego League (Mondays and Wednesdays, or Tuesdays and Thursdays)
Monday, November 7, 2022 – Thursday December 22, 2022
Students will be introduced to robotics through the First Lego League program. The program consists of two courses, Introduction to Robotics and the CCP First Lego League Challenge Team. Students who have completed the Introduction to Robotics course can join the CCP First Lego League Challenge Team.
Spring 2023: Artificial Intelligence and Manufacturing – $200 for the full semester
Monday, February 8, 2023- Thursday April 27, 2023, (Tuesdays and Thursdays) and Introduction to Robotics – First Lego League (Mondays and Wednesdays)
Artificial Intelligence and Manufacturing: Students will learn the steps needed to design, develop and manufacture a product from start to finish. Using the Dobot Magic Arm Lite, students will learn about the role of artificial intelligence and machine learning in product development.
