journey2home Second Friday
July 11, 2014, 04:30 PM – 07:00 PM
42nd Street and Lancaster Avenue, journey2home mobile art unit
(Rain Location – 4119 Lancaster Avenue, journey2home storefront)
Philadelphia, PA
Food, activities, music, art!
journey2home is an ongoing project in addressing the issues of youth homelessness and housing insecurity. At the corner of 42nd Street and Lancaster Avenue, a modified shipping container will sit at the apex of a green space, acting as a metaphor for home and a location for community workshops and events. Help create, silkscreen, and stuff emergency care pouches for local youths, and see the progress on the murals across the street!
FUNDERS: City of Philadelphia Department of Human Services, Hummingbird Foundation, The Patricia Kind Family Foundation
