Join Mid-Atlantic Student Environmental Action Coalition
Posted by on February 20, 2004
In years past, Mid-Atlantic SEAC was one the strongest regions in the network with major regional conferences that trained organizers in skills and educated them about critical environmental and social justice issues and huge regional campaigns that united groups for common goals. Tons of groups in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland and Delaware are still involved with SEAC but the strong regional coalition has declined.
Last spring, organizers from around the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic came together to form Northeast SEAC (http://www.seac.org/ne), a regional, coalition that would work to empower local groups and build collective strength and environmental and social justice issues. It was agreed that, for the time being, the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic would organize together until the Mid-Atlantic was strong enough to build its own independent regional coalition.
Now we’re looking for people to organize the Mid-Atlantic and build that regional coalition. This is a chance to connect activists, learn skills, create campaigns and build a movement–and we want you to get involved! Email [email protected] to let us know that you want to build the Mid-Atlantic movement!
