2023 Johnson Matthey STEM Teaching Fellows Program – Mar 1
Posted by Philadelphia Education Fund on February 21, 2023
The Johnson Matthey STEM Teaching Fellows Program is an intensive short-term teacher and educator professional development series designed for those seeking to grow and deepen the STEM literacy of their students and learners. Designed for Out-of-School time educators who work with 6th-12th grade students, this program will showcase the work and expertise of Johnson Matthey, a global science and chemicals company and a leader in sustainable technologies.
These workshops will be held virtually and cover a wide variety of topics related to STEM teaching and learning. The Teaching Fellows will then produce and present a Capstone Project: an engaging STEM lesson plan to implement either in an informal setting or in their classrooms. The sessions plus the presentation session will take place on Wednesday mornings from 9:30-11:30am from mid-March through May 2023. Applications are due on Wednesday, March 1st, with decisions emailed by Thursday, March 9th, 2023.
Completing the Johnson Matthey STEM Teaching Fellows Program will provide Fellows with new STEM content, teaching strategies, activities, and resources. Participants who complete the program will also receive STEM supplies, opportunities to network, Act 48 credits, and assistance in implementing their Capstone Projects.
