NSC is a non-profit organization that provides social, educational, and legal services to immigrants and refugees in the greater Philadelphia area. Our strength lies in the diversity of our clients and services. Since NSC’s founding in 1921, our mission has been to help immigrants and refugees participate fully in American society. Each year, we help approximately 4,000 individuals from over 90 countries.
Position Summary
The Job Developer will oversee identification of employment sectors and prospective employers that might be good matches for a large case load of both newly arrived refugees, and those refugees being referred by the county assistance office, self-referrals, and through targeted outreach within refugee communities. In addition, s/he will ensure that all NSC job readiness, development and placement activities collectively meet contract goals while the team develops and maintains a robust roster of viable jobs for clients. S/he will create and deliver a successful master marketing plan that will result in expanding NSC’s employer base. S/he will also oversee retention activities, while working in concert with NSC case managers, employment team members, fellow team leads and external partners. S/he will comply with all funders and NSC requirements and submit all required documentation and reports in a correct and timely manner. The Employment Coordinator will work to successfully implement activities outlined in the team’s strategic plan.
The Job Developer position has internal contacts with agency staff and external contact with clients, employers, representatives of other social services agencies, and the community. This position has access to sensitive NSC and client information and is expected to handle such information with integrity and professionalism. This position is expected to represent NSC in a professional manner.
The Job Developer position will report directly to the Employment Coordinator and participate in department activities as necessary.
