Posted by on March 27, 2011
Dear friends and colleagues,
A group of Japanese students at Swarthmore College have prepared a host of events (see below) to raise money and awareness about the tsunami in Japan and its impact. Please participate as you are able and do share this agenda with others!
Best wishes,

Moderated by Hans Oberdiek (Philosophy / Environmental Studies). Panelists: Michael Brown (Physics), Will Gardner (Japanese, Modern Languages and Literatures), Etsuko Hoshino-Brown (Psychology); and Eric

Hanami (flower viewing) is a Japanese tradition celebrating the arrival of spring by having a meal under cherry blossom trees. Join us in solidarity as we commemorate Japan in this celebratory tradition.
Students, faculty, and members of the administration will be giving speeches, reciting poetry, and singing songs. There will be plenty of catered Japanese food (including sushi).
