J. R. Masterman School Seeking Senior Internship Host Sites, Mar 9
Posted by J. R. Masterman School on January 28, 2020
The J. R. Masterman School is seeking potential host sites for our Senior Internships. About half of our seniors have secured a relationship with their professional mentor, and many others are working tirelessly to find the perfect fit. We want to create as many opportunities as possible before their proposals are due.
Proposal Due Date: March 9th (extra credit if submitted by February 13th)
Internship Dates: May 18th-29th (60 hours total)
Mentor Responsibilities include developing learning objectives and a tentative internship schedule (this is the “proposal” due by March 9th), hosting the student for 60 hours between May 18th-29th, being interviewed by the student, and finally submitting a brief evaluation of the student’s performance on the last day of the internship. Masterman staff will review proposals after submission. Learning objectives and internship activities will be different for each site; students should shadow their mentors, engage in special projects, and get to know workplace dynamics and culture. Mentors will be invited to view their student’s presentation the first week of June.

We could like to expand our “Mentor Directory.” Inclusion in the directory does not guarantee that someone will host an intern, but it does mean that their contact information will be available to students. It is then up to the mentor and student to decide if they are a good fit for each other. The above letter provides more details about the project. Additionally, if you are interested in reviewing our first round of proposals on February 14th, email Cody at email address above. We can use help for however long you are available.
