Job Descriptions: Issue Response Coordinator
Clean Air Council seeks an energetic professional to strengthen the Council?s issue response. This job involves preparing public responses to specific evironmental policy proposals. The job is high visibility and will involve alot of work with media. The job requires working with national, regional, and local environmental organizations. The job also involves coordinating issue responses with the Council?s allies in the environmental, conservation, and public health communities.
Responsibilities:
* Developing materials to explain the Council?s positions on environmental policies.
* Making sure media contacts are fully briefed on the Council?s positions.
* Responding publicly to proposed changes in environmental policies.
* Reaching out to other environmental, conservation, public health, and religious organizations for support of Council priorities.
Qualifications:
* 5 years in environmental policy work at the state or national level.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proven ability to work creatively and effectively with the media on complex environmental policies.
* Strong organizational skills. Attention to detail, ability to be simultaneously involved in many activities and to work under pressure.
* Computer proficiency required. Web skills preferred.
* Willingness to work off hours such as night and weekends.
* Experienced in problem solving and working independently.
* Work well under pressure and take deadlines seriously.
* Ability to assimilate a large amount of information quickly.
Position Details:
