Position: IPS Supervisor
Supervisor: Deputy Director
Overview of Position/General Responsibilities
Intensive Prevention Services is a new prevention-oriented service, one in a continuum, supported by the Philadelphia Department of Human Services. The purpose is to promote pro-social behavior for at-risk youth by providing a comprehensive set of services. The IPS Supervisor will oversee the delivery of counseling and social services to the entire cohort of 50 youth and their respective families.
Duties
• Provide day-to-day supervision of IPS teams consisting of an MSW and a BSW
• Provide supervision to AmeriCorps Volunteers and other interns with program
• Establish social work protocols including schedule of supervisory sessions individually and as a group
• In conjunction with other agency administrative and executive staff, develop the program content and schedule to ensure that youth receive the services needed
• Conduct outreach to develop and strengthen relationships with other service providers to ensure that youth are involved in needed services
• Communicate IPS needs to other administrative/executive staff of agencies
• Submit weekly case updates for IPS teams to supervisor
• Collect and submit staff timesheets and other financial forms to appropriate administrative staff
• Assist and facilitate staff meetings; participate in other relevant agency and external meetings
• Train and mentor new staff
• Other duties as required.
Qualifications
• MSW or Masters in Behavioral Health
• At least 3 years of supervisory experience involving a mix of master and bachelor level staff
• At least 2 years of direct counseling, group or family counseling/case management
• Demonstrated progression of increasing responsibility and authority
• Administrative experience as reflected above
• Excellent interpersonal skills
