Interpreter Training Workshop
Interpreters are everywhere: from hospitals to courtrooms, from helping to negotiate high-level business deals to mediating conflicts on the streets of Philadelphia.
Learn about how to make interpretation your exciting new career by joining Nationalities Service Center for an interpreter training workshop open to bilingual/multilingual individuals of all backgrounds and education levels who are fluent in English and at least one other language. You’ll learn:
• Different Methods of Interpretation (simultaneous and consecutive)
• The role of the interpreter in healthcare, business, and other professional settings
• Intercultural communication, cultural competency, and how to be a “culture broker”
• Ethics and boundaries
• Clarifying, paraphrasing, and communicating shades of meaning
Dates and Times:
August 10: 12:00pm -6:00 p.m.
August 11: 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.
August 18: 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
