Internships, East Park Revitalization Alliance
Posted by on November 05, 2012
East Park Revitalization Alliance (EPRA), a community-based 501(c)3 non-profit in Strawberry Mansion, is looking for help starting a prenatal nutrition program. EPRA is collaborating with a Philly-based Doula to provide comprehensive prenatal nutrition education and family planning services to women in our neighborhood, free of charge. EPRA is planning to run a weekly workshop to improve the health of mothers in our neighborhood and increase the well being of newborns and family members. We need help getting this exciting project rolling!
Strawberry Mansion, a neighborhood of North Philadelphia, is 96% African American and 47% of the population is below poverty level. We value leadership from our community and are looking for students excited to be neighborhood allies through this work. We prefer that students have some awareness of race and class dynamics and we will support them as they learn through this project.
