Internships, Art Sphere Incorporated
Posted by on August 6, 2004
Art Sphere Incorporated is a 501c3 non-profit whose mission is to provide art education to the underserved low income youth of inner city Philadelphia. We seeks interns that can support our programs in several ways.
First, support for mural and related art workshops and events. This type of internship is ideal for art students, art history, performing arts, and eduaction majors, or those who have exhibited a strong interest and practise in the arts. Experience and interest in civic or community participation is a strong plus. Students do not need to be experienced in our projects they will recieve training as part of the internship.
Second, research and preparation of course outlines and curiculum development which combine art and a nonart subject matter. For example art with nutrition, art with astronomy, and art with cultural diversity. This type of internship is ideal who is a non-art major in the social sciences who wishes to incorpoarte their subject into a meaningful educational process.
The third area for internships would be for non-profit administrational internships. For example abstracting and organizing our collections of course material and art materials and educational resources. Analysis and research of grants, marketing and communications press releases, etc. This area is very well suited to economics, communications, and business majors.
