International Reading Association Accepting Nominations for 2014 Literacy Awards
DEADLINE: JUNE 15, 2014
The International Reading Association is a nonprofit global network of individuals and institutions committed to worldwide literacy. More than 53,000 members strong, the association supports literacy professionals through a wide range of resources, advocacy efforts, voluntarism, and professional development activities.
IRA is accepting nominations for the Pearson Foundation-IRA-Rotary Award for literacy service projects jointly undertaken by Rotary clubs and IRA-affiliated reading councils and will award grants of $2,500 each to two projects undertaken between January 1, 2013, and June 15, 2014. The awards will be presented at IRA’s International Literacy Day celebration in Washington, D.C., on September 8, 2014.
The award is not a project grant, but rather is intended to celebrate sustainable literacy initiatives between Rotarians and IRA members.
All literacy projects jointly undertaken by a Rotary club and an IRA council or affiliate are eligible to apply.
Visit the IRA Web site for complete program guidelines and application instructions.
