The International Coastal Cleanup, September 18th 2004 11am – 1pm
John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum
Join Earth Force volunteers as they demonstrate the connection between environmental awareness and community action by cleaning up Darby Creek. Trash and litter pollution in Darby Creek has a detrimental impact on wildlife and marine ecosystems of the Jersey shore and the greater Atlantic coast. ICC is an international Ocean Conservancy project involving participants in 55 states and territories and over 90 countries in monitoring the amount of trash polluting our oceans and waterways.
This event is part of the “Cradle of Birding” Wildlife and Conservation festival which is being held at the Refuge on September 18th.
