Position Announcement
UrbanPromise Ministries is looking to hire a passionate and experienced individual for a full-time position directing our Intern Program beginning in May or June, 2012. This person would organize, direct and manage the Intern program which brings college-age young adults to Camden, NJ for a summer or a year or two to learn about and gain experience in urban youth ministry.
Position responsibilities include:
• Providing pastoral care and leadership for a group of approximately 25 Interns during the school year and 50 Interns during the summer.
• Organizing instruction for Interns about the issues facing urban America in general and Camden specifically using guest speakers, readings, journals, projects, and discussion.
• Overseeing the administration the Intern Program including the budget, scheduling, housing, food, and transportation.
• Working closely with the AfterSchool Program and Summer Camp Site Directors to equip, support, and hold the Interns accountable in their ministry assignment.
• Working closely with partner organizations such as UrbanPromise International to integrate the programs as much as possible.
• Overseeing the Intern recruitment, application, selection, and intake process.
• Completing Commercial Drivers License (CDL) training.
