THE NATIONAL CLEARINGHOUSE FOR THE DEFENSE OF BATTERED WOMEN (NCDBW), a small nonprofit organization based in Philadelphia, is seeking a seasoned leader who can offer administrative, financial and management oversight as Interim Executive Director while NCDBW’s Board of Directors searches for a permanent Executive Director. NCDBW’s founding Director is retiring after 33 years.

We are seeking someone to provide overall program, operations, human resources, and administrative management of the organization, and to help facilitate the efficient operation of the small but busy office. The Interim Executive Director will oversee fundraising and reporting activities, ensure the organization is meeting its financial and programmatic obligations, guide the staff, and will work with the Board in carrying out transition activities and to implement NCDBW’s strategic plan which was completed in Fall 2020. The Interim Executive Director will report to the organization’s Board of Directors.

The Interim Executive Director will be a 6 to 9 month position; the Interim ED will not be eligible to apply for the permanent Executive Director role.

Location : While the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is unpredictable and we expect the Interim Executive Director will work at least partly remotely, the candidate must be able to physically access the organization’s office in Philadelphia.

Start date : February 15, 2021 desired, but flexible

Compensation: Competitive compensation negotiated based on experience.
