The Fairmount Park Conservancy, the public-private partnership dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of the Greater Philadelphia Region through the financial support of the Fairmount Park system, seeks a versatile, results oriented development professional to serve as a Interim Director of Development. Reporting to the Executive Director and working in conjunction with Board members, he/she will be responsible for supporting all areas of the organization’s fundraising efforts and project management. This is a five month temporary full-time position.
Responsibilities:
Development / Fundraising
* Write, submit and manage grant requests
* Submit grant reports
* Manage follow-up for outstanding funding requests
* Develop new materials as needed
* Maintain the Grant Calendar and Funder Management Chart
* Supervise an annual appeal mailing
* Maintain ongoing relationships with major donors
* Oversee two staff members
Project Management
Manage Hunting Park Revitalization capital improvement project
* Oversee project team of Philadelphia Parks & Recreation (land owners), Wells Appel (designer) and Liberty Property Trust (client rep.)
* Manage a $1.5 million State RACP grant and two additional programmatic grants related to the project
* Oversee project schedule and coordinate project meetings
* Maintain capital project and programmatic budgets
* Keep project information and collateral updated
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
* Minimum 3-5 years fundraising experience, including prospect research, proposal writing and a proven
track record of success
* Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial and communication skills
* Ability to set priorities, plan, and manage multiple projects simultaneously with high attention to detail
and deadlines
* Excellent interpersonal skills and high energy level
* Proficiency with the Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft Office suite
* Bachelor’s Degree
