Intergenerational Nutrition Education: FRIDGE

Posted by on May 7, 2007

On Monday June 18th, in collaboration with the Delaware Valley Chapter for the Society of Nutrition Education, the PA NEN is pleased to present our annual workshop. This year the workshop is entitled Intergenerational Nutrition Education: FRIDGE. Participants will review and discuss FRIDGE (Food-Related Intergenerational Discussion Group Experiences) a curriculum to help families, especially those with 11-14 year olds, to communicate better, learn more about food and nutrition, and work as partners to achieve their healthy eating goals. Participants will also receive an overview and learn how to get their communities involved in the Penn State Extension Family Fitness Program. This joint parent/child (8-12 years old) program significantly improves healthy eating, physical activity, and family communication for healthy behaviors.

As a benefit to your membership in the PA NEN (or DVCSNE), you receive a 30% discount in registration fees! The workshop will be held in Philadelphia from 12:15 to 4:30. Pending approval 3.5 ADA, CHES, and AAFCS credits will be provided; please contact me if other continuing education credits would be helpful for you. Attendance is limited, so register soon!

Please find more details and the registration form attached. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at panen@pahunger.org or 717.233.1791.

We look forward to seeing you for a day of learning and connecting!
