Sponsored by LEARNS, the Corporation for National and Community Service, and the Michigan national service partners, this two-day institute features newly designed opportunities to:
* Build networks and affinity groups with peers around topics of mutual concern
* Dialogue with CNCS representatives on emerging program priorities and initiatives
LEARNS partners and guest trainers will anchor the institute with a broad selection of:
* Train-the-trainer sessions to orient and support volunteer tutors and mentors
* Sessions on elements of successful tutor, mentor, and out-of-school-time programs
* Beginning and advanced sessions on education program management
We welcome the participation of national service staff of tutoring, mentoring, literacy, and out-of-school time programs and their partners, including Federal Work Study tutoring coordinators, 21st Community Learning Center program coordinators, and school partners. National service programs are encouraged to attend with education partners.
