Infrastructure Development Intern, Office of Charter Schools

The School District of Philadelphia’s Office of Charter Schools (OCS) is launching a historic transformation, culminating in the development of best-in-class charter school authorizing practices. OCS is responsible for monitoring and overseeing Philadelphia’s nationally-recognized charter school sector, comprised of 84 charter schools serving more than 46,000 students. OCS wishes to support this work with the development of best-in-class infrastructure and back-office systems, including strong information management systems.
As a critical part of the OCS team, the Infrastructure Development Intern would be responsible for the research, planning, design, and implementation of a cutting-edge document management system to support fast-paced, high-stakes charter school authorizing work.
Performance Objectives:
1) Design and build a best-in-class document management system for the office’s paper files, including academic, financial, compliance, and legal documents.
2) Design and implement a best-in-class electronic document management system.
3) Work with other staff members and interns to develop a strategic plan for integrated office infrastructure systems.
Skill Set Required:
* Ability to plan and manage large projects involving work across multiple functional areas
* Superior attention to detail
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Strong familiarity with technology and software systems, including network configuration, file storage formats, and electronic storage systems
* Ability to work independently in a fluid environment that is subject to change
* Strong interpersonal relationship skills and an ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships
* Budget development and management experience
Some college experience preferred.
