Urban Affairs Coalition partners with Here’s My Chance to host Capacity Building Workshop for local Nonprofits
“Infographics: Using Imagery to Increase Engagement”

On Friday, May 16 from 9:30am – 11:30am the Urban Affairs Coalition (UAC) will partner with Here’s My Chance to host “Coalition U Infographics: Using Imagery to Increase Engagement!” Workshop presenters Lansie Sylvia and Nicola Charlton, from Here’s My Chance, will explain how effective imagery increases engagement and explore key techniques in data visualization. This event will be held at the Free Library of Philadelphia, Main Branch, 1900 Vine Street. Continental breakfast will be provided, however all attendees must register at http://www.uac.org. Space is limited.

Last month Coalition U bought you “Storytelling: How to make your fundraising letter sing!” Our presenters, fundraising experts in the nonprofit sector, shared valuable insight on how to create an appealing fundraising letter through the art of storytelling to raise more money. This month, learn how to share your organization’s impact through a captivating visual display, called an infographic. Top nonprofits across the country are using infographics as part of the annual reports, marketing campaigns and to solicit donors. Don’t be the last to learn how to make an impactful infographic for your organization!

Bring one data point that you want to visualize, and we’ll teach you how to do it! This hands-on workshop will be limited in size and involve small group exercises designed to have participants begin the creative process immediately. Plus, all participants will receive a professional photograph (retouched and cropped) of themselves with their “infographic” to distribute on social media, shot and edited by HMC’s photojournalist, Jessie Fox.
In celebration of our 45th Anniversary, UAC re-launched Coalition U, a capacity building initiative which assists nonprofits in strengthening their infrastructure and in maximizing and documenting their impact. Coalition U offers a variety of capacity building seminars and workshops geared towards improving overall organizational health and program quality. Seminars and Workshops are held monthly. Coalition U is offered free to UAC partners and at a low cost to other organizations (Infographics Workshop – $10).
